After the premiere and several private screenings in Germany as well as the positive feedback in the international press, Anandita Bajpai’s film “The Sound of Friendship: Warm Wavelengths in a Cold, Cold War” was finally shown in India as well.
The first event was organized and funded by The M.S. Merian – R. Tagore International Centre of Advanced Studies “Metamorphoses of the Political: Comparative Perspectives on the Long Twentieth Century” (ICAS:MP) in Delhi on the 28.03.2022.
The event started with the presentation of the volume “Cordial Cold War: Cultural Actors in India and the German Democratic Republic” (edited by Anandita Bajpai), followed by a private screening of the film. The audience, which included several employees of the German embassy in Delhi as well as members of the local German diaspora, had the opportunity to discuss book and film with the editor and director Anandita Bajpai.
