Paula Schnabel

Career

After grad­u­at­ing from high school in 2015, I first stud­ied law and since the win­ter semes­ter 2017/18 his­to­ry and area stud­ies at the Hum­boldt-Uni­ver­sität zu Berlin. I grad­u­at­ed with a Bachelor’s degree in Octo­ber 2021 and com­plet­ed my stud­ies with an over­all grade of 1.1. Since then, I have been study­ing in the Master’s pro­gram in Glob­al His­to­ry at Hum­boldt-Uni­ver­sität zu Berlin and Freie Universität.

Dur­ing my stud­ies so far, I have been par­tic­u­lar­ly inter­est­ed in the his­to­ries of Ger­man colo­nial­ism and mod­ern India. In addi­tion, I have been learn­ing the Indi­an lan­guage Hin­di at the Insti­tute for Asian and African Stud­ies at Hum­boldt Uni­ver­si­ty since the win­ter semes­ter 2018/19.

Main Areas of Work

I have been part of the MIDA project since March 2021 and sup­port the team as a stu­dent assis­tant in index­ing Ger­man archival col­lec­tions for the MIDA database.
